Building your MMA/Sports Program:
This is one of those questions that I am asked a lot so I though that I would write a little about it.
I use 5 Steps in building my workout for the different sport(s) that I do which is mostly MMA. These are what I tell people to do:
1) Breakdown the different components of your sport.
a) What kinds of movements are required?
b) What kinds of strengths and conditioning is required?
c) What techniques do I perform constantly?
d) Which muscles do I use (even the little ones)?
e) What movements do I use (am I slow and calculated or explosive)?
f) Does your sport require you to hold a piece of equipment? What equipment do I use?
2) Search for Drills and exercises that pertain to the questions above and do them. Learn from people who know!!!!!!

This is a reprint of an article I did a while ago but I just did the workout again tonight. WOW, it’s a hard one. Mack used a 75 pound bb and I use a 70lb one. We did 8 reps on each exercise and did 6 rounds in total. Instead of taking a 60 rest after each round we filled the time with a figure 8 abdominal exercise for 30 reps. Just take a medicine ball and loop it inbetween your legs in a figure 8 pattern as you balance on your butt. Give it a shot. Read more

If you have not looked into the naked warrior training system, do so. It will be where the inspiration for a lot of the things I write about are coming from. The other wicked site I have run into lately is http://www.beastskills.com . That site has taken me from a mostly weight lifter to a die hard bodyweight trainer. The guy is just sick, I love it.
