Motivated To Work Out

MOTIVATION To Work Out And Why We Do Everything Else

…Happiness belongs to those who are sufficient unto themselves. For all external sources of happiness and pleasure are, by their very nature, highly uncertain, precarious, ephemeral and subject to change…
Arthur Schopenhauer

This is just a little bit of personal experience and “insight” I would like to share.

The question before you begin any great adventure or task in life should be, “why am I doing this?” It may seem silly, but think about it. Why do you want to hit the gym? There are many reasons to take the time to think about this. No single motivation is “better” than another, but you must know what drives you. A person with a plan and intense desire is unstoppable. If you don’t know why you’re doing something, any reason is a good reason to stop.

Goals Are VERY Important Part 1

Introduction

Every person in the world devotes countless hours to thinking of their future and their present situation in life. Almost everyone wishes that there was something that they could change in their life.

Whether it is their family life; their friendships; relationships or finances, everyone wants to change something. The first step to doing that is to set goals.

However, many of us are great at trying to set goals; most of us are practically incapable of following through with them. Think about it. How many times have you decided on a course of action and simply didn’t follow through with it?

That is pretty much the norm for most people.

Sometimes even setting goals at all is the harder part of accomplishing any. The easiest way of looking at this is to think of each and every New Year. The largest part of New Year’s celebrations are not the parties and the get-togethers; it is actually in the resolutions.

As much as we all like to attend and talk about New Years Eve parties, the most common source of conversation is the resolutions for the New Year. Read more

Jeff’s Quicky Workout

Jeff did a post of his “quicky” workout over in the forum and I thought that everyone should see how he goes about combining what he has learned over the last little while so that it fits his life. Jeff juggles family obligations as well as a career in the military so time is not in great supply. Yet despite all this he is doing great and I’m really stoked for him. Here is what he has been doing lately…maybe you’ll send in a picture so we know what you look like Jeff!

Here is Jeffs modified workout:

Fasterleanerstronger member JeffToday at lunch I had a window to get in for a workout, so believe it or not I got a workout in on a workday! This if officially my limited time available workout. I find it really works the lungs/heart when you push it. After the second set of the second group my body was spent, it was great! Read more

Setting Goals For 2008

Here is a reprint of the Monthly Ezine I send out
====================================

4 Tips For Setting And Achieving Goals

2008 has begun and if you are like me, you’ve made a few goals for yourself. So what goals have you set for yourself this year? A flat stomach? A tighter butt? Maybe you want to get stronger and finally make those biceps pop. Whatever goal you have set, I’m going to give you some tips that I use to make sure that you accomplish your fitness goals this year.

First Tip To Goal Setting: Reminders

The first tip is put your goal where you can see it. When I log off the net, sitting right there on my laptop for physical goals I see:

PHYSICAL GOALS 2008:
Be able to do 5 freestanding Hand Stand Pushups.
Be able to do backflips on demand.
Be able to walk 100 feet on my hands.
Do a 360 on my snowboard.
